Founded by Elena Garcia and Stamo, Ecoluxe Fashion is the newest platform for eco fashion designers who want to showcase their latest works and collections.
For many years Eco Fashion has been, not always wrongly, associated with expensive costs and eco-looking fabrics. Yesterday night Ecoluxe Fashion Show succeeded in changing our perspective by showing high-level designers and great new products.
In support of the Fine Cell Work Charity, The Ecoluxe Fashion Show managed to produce highly wearable garments by bringing both creativity and sustainability to the catwalk establishing itself as the missing link between eco fashion and mainstream.
We take a look at the best eco fashion/mainstream designers straight from the Ecoluxe 2014 catwalk:
Marikrina
Sweden brand Marikrina is well-known for its tailored dresses, beautiful fabrics and sharp cuts.
Bringing silk garments to the Ecoluxe Fashion Show, Marikrina’s collection was inspired by a florist’s exhibition and represents the perfect compromise between eco fashion and mainstream. Founded by eco fashion designer Marie Kristina Karlsson, Marikrina’s signature dresses had clean cuts and a graceful style.
Deploy
This was one of my favourite brands at The Ecoluxe Fashion Show. Deploy revived the golden era of haute-couture but with a unique sustainable twist. By only working with eco fabrics, Deploy is a brand conceived and designed by Bernice Pan. Deploy’s collection was classical and bon ton…something to keep in mind when looking for something truly special.
Elena Garcia
I loved Elena Garcia‘s collection. It was feminine and natural. It captured the soul of eco fashion telling a story, women’s story…The collection embraced women’s bodies with flowing shapes and warm shades.
Le Konsphin
Viviana Lopes’ accessories were brilliant to see on the catwalk. I really liked her bags and hats; loved how different they were from anything else I had ever seen. Le Konsphin products are limited editions items working with fine fabrics and natural materials such as silk, linen and a special fabric from from Ta Phin, Vietnam.
Stamo
Stamo’s collection was colourful and modern. It was interesting to see how different elements were easily combined with such beautiful, intense results. Stamo‘s style distinguished itself not only for its creativity but also for how such creativity can be applied to everyday’s occasions.
Real Grace
Real Grace is an eco friendly brand inspired by vintage mood and made for ‘real women’. Inspired by Indian sarees, Real Grace’s new collection celebrates women’s different shapes and styles. Real Grace is an exclusive new brand using only bamboo and organic cotton.
The Ecoluxe Fashion Show didn’t propose an alternative to London Fashion Week but something that could easily complement London Fashion Week making it a better, more ethical experience for buyers, designers and press.
