We’ll admit it, we love a good beauty box: the anticipation of ordering it, the element of surprise and the joy of getting to play with new makeup goodies are hard to beat. Yet, having said that, after a quick fling with Glossybox and the odd Birchbox, we never really got round to subscribing again. All this changed as we caught sight of the August Birchbox – come on, Emoji stickers, need we say more?
The beauty junkie box promised 2 beauty products (alongside skincare and other treats) and on opening it, we certainly weren’t disappointed. We thought we’d show you what we got in case you’re considering a subscription yourself or are simply, like us, a little nosy!
Our box arrived like it always does: a quick run down the stairs, almost hugging the postman and a dash to the office to open it and there we had it, five lovely beauty products to play with and tell you all about.
We received a gorgeously scented Rituals Fortune Scrub which made the whole box smell lovely, a tiny wonder pot of Huygens Exfoliating Creme, a blush from Lord & Berry in the shade Lotus, a tiny Balm Cosmetics Bronzer to pop in our handbags for contouring on the go and the most exciting product of all, a Kebelo Shampoo which promises a detox for your hair. The box also included a lovely Ponytail holder from L. Erickson, perfect to pop in your handbags as, we don’t know about you, but our hairbands always go missing when we need them the most.
