The last days of August could as well feature in a Fitzgerald’s novel.
The sticky warmth, the melancholy of what it has been and the expectancy of what’s to come.

No time to dwell on the past and despite every little piece of my sun-burnt flesh would love to stay on this lounge and procrastinate my way to the new academic year, September sounds like one of those parties I couldn’t possibly miss and here’s why.

As the new season unfolds and cities wake up, we find ourselves planning our social calendar once again and so far, here are our favourite events for our beloved September:

-The Luna Cinema

The moon, a little blanket and the person you love. Are we getting too sappy? Well, deal with it, how could you not when The Luna Cinema is in town. Doesn’t matter where you are based, this wonderful outdoor experience is perfect for all cinema lovers out there. We cannot possibly wait for our Cardiff dates. With the wonderful backdrop of Cardiff Castle, The Luna Cinema is going to be in the Welsh capital for three perfect September nights showing The Greatest Showman (14th September), Pretty Woman (15th September) and Harry Potter, The Chamber of Secret (16th September). Perfect date night or something to enjoy with your best pals, you choose.

-Red Smart Week

Once upon a time, we went to a one of a kind soiree organised by the kick-ass team that is Red Magazine. Take five to picture it:

Roman Baths, a champagne cascade, the most intelligent, interesting crowd you will ever meet; yes, quite a night to remember.

That’s exactly why we expect great things from Red’s Smart Women Week from 18th to 22nd September. The wonderful Red team is taking over the wonderful 10-11 Carlton House Terrace in St James, London and will bring you four full days of live talks, interviews, workshops and masterclasses.

From Body and Mind to your Career Path and Development, Childcare and Parenting, Entertaining, Beauty and everything a ‘smart’ woman needs today, the week promises to be even bigger and better than last year.

Favourite talk?

“Channel your creativity and trust your instinct with Jo Malone MBE” (19th September, 6.30 PM), of course.

Workshops, seminars and an awful lot of pretty smart ladies to start the academic year the way you want: smart, passionate and RED-worthy.

-Jane Austen Festival

The most spectacular literature festival to take place in the UK. We are slightly partial to the Jane Austen Festival; we have been in  Jane’s squad for a very long time and before it was cool. Set in our beautiful Bath, The Jane Austen Festival is a great opportunity to learn about Miss Austen’s life and works. Running from 18th to 23rd September, the festival brings you some little gems including wonderful talks about Jane and her family, festival get-together and yes, your very own ball. Our bonnet is ready, what about yours?
