Coffee and a walk. Coffee after an outdoors workout. Coffee on a park bench as you catch up with a mate. It’s funny how habits we form and the things we consume have taken on a whole new shape in lockdown – the humble takeaway coffee has now become somewhat of a ritual, a comforting habit in a world where the only constant is mind-blowing, earth-shattering change and a collective activity we can safely enjoy outdoors. Here’s 3 new coffee spots to add to our list as, let’s be honest, the takeaway coffee isn’t going anywhere juuuuuust yet.

Brodies Coffee Co – Starting out in Gorsedd Gardens and quickly becoming the favourite of many University students, Brodies Coffee now have their very own aptly named, Bricks ‘n’ Mortar store. Firmly on our list to try because, we don’t know about you guys, but a motivational coffee cup is the kind of energy we need in our lives right now. If you don’t know what we’re talking about, this is your sign to get yourselves down there ASAP.

Social Eats – With the yummiest-looking treats on the block and Clifton Coffee, we are so excited to try out this new spot especially as it promises a healthy spin on our favourite brunch classics. Also, have you seen that beetroot latte? We are sold.

Milk & Sugar, Pontcanna – Milk & Sugar was our favourite spot back in The Old Library Days when we were looking for locally sourced food and, quite honestly, one of the best coffees in Cardiff. So imagine our surprise when we found out they were opening in Pontcanna through the medium of an Eco Retail Store. Certainly one to watch – we simply cannot wait.

What has been your go-to coffee spot during lockdown? Let us know, we’re nosy like that.

Love,

The Squiggles Team X
